Symbolism Explained

October 7th, 2009 · 1 Comment · AS, Politics

Ever wonder what “symbolism” means? No? Well then! Obviously you weren’t home-schooled!

Anyway, Jon McNaughton would like to introduce you home-schooled children to the idea of symbolism by including 40 not-so-subtle symbols in this, the love-child of Thomas Kinkade and Jesus Christ Superstar. Unfortunately, McNaughty messed up a little bit on the whole symbolism thing by making one symbol, the handicapped baby, which has neither symbol nor referent. By which I mean (attn: home-schoolers), there is no way to actually tell the baby is handicapped, and the only thing the baby’s handicap stands for is the desire of Pregnant Woman not to abort her late-term fetus. Huh?

At least now we know that when Jesus comes back to check out D.C. for himself, the lawyers are going to make a killing.

Once you’ve gotten done playing with McNaughty’s version, have a crack at this one.

Thanks to Wonkette for finding the first and inspiring the sequel.

UPDATE: The hilarity continues.

You kinda lose some of your credibility to be commenting on American history when you decide that naming a soldier after him is the right way to pay tribute Martin Luther King.
