Slate’s John Dickerson argues that Sarah Palin, the half-term governor of a sparsely populated state who doesn’t read newspapers and makes stuff up to cover for her gross lack of knowledge, is the Right’s answer to Al Gore, the Nobel Peace Prize winning two-term vice-president of the United States who tends to be ahead of the curve on just about every major issue.
I’m not sure if I hate this comparison as an insult to Al Gore, or love it as an insult to the Right.

I think that it should be mentioned that he was elected President (talk about the Right’s fear of judicial activism!) and was part of the one percent of 1969 Harvard graduates who served in Vietnam.
